All I could do was give her the last piece of advice of not to get pregnant. She may very well live like this for a year and decide this sucks (I didn't say that part). She says she doesn't plan to get pregnant anytime soon.

And for those asking, this is both a complete shock and I guess not. I have suspected for a long time that her parents parenting style did not work for her and that she was withdrawing from her family. But I guess I didnt think she would have the guts to do something this extreme. I hope my cousin and her DH come around and eventually realize that ultimatums will no longer work. They are used to controlling their kids behaviors through consequences/punishments vs really trying to understand underlying motivations.[/quote]
