Just like you don't want to "cure" anger or anxiety, which are valuable feedback mechanisms, you don't want to "cure" pain either. Pain is your body's way of telling you something's wrong. You can experience that without adding a narrative about how it has always been wrong, will always be wrong, is excruciating and you're going to die, etc. You can take the suffering component out of it by staying present and accepting what is (e.g. "I had surgery on my foot and this pain is my body's way of telling me to take it easy and stop walking around")[/quote]
