The early decision acceptance rate for ED1 and ED2 is over 40 percent. They also heavily weight demonstrated interest. And anyone who applies ED and gets in is guaranteed a $20k per year scholarship. Grinnell, Kenyon, Denison, Macalester. These are the highest ranked LACs where a good student can get $20-25k in merit aid. All are excellent schools.
Yes, they’re all excellent but Grinnell is clearly the best of the bunch
Not really. I could list many things better about Kenyon, Denison, or Macalester. Grinnell really struggles to attract talent.
These schools are all absolute peers. I graduated from Grinnell. My kids go to Kenyon and Denison. When choosing between these schools, it’s about fit. They are all equally good in terms of academics and getting into grad school. Grinnell much more quirky and woke. Denison has far more normal types. Kenyon closer to Denison in terms of normal kids. Macalester closer to Grinnell in terms of liberal quirk. Depends on what you want. Grinnell also is by far most isolated of the 4.
Nobody considers them peers. It doesn’t matter that you went to Grinnell.
