I love how some people count getting ready for work and their commute and lunch as hours spent working. Therefore, I work 80 hours a week. I’m the most productive and important and incredible person where I work, and I still make all my kids events, volunteer rescuing puppies and fly to the Mediterranean every weekend to rescue immigrants from sinking boats.
I’m hourly. As soon as I start my car I clock in with my vehicle computer. I get paid for my commute. I get paid for my hour lunch. I get paid to work out at the station. I get paid sitting in my car. I get paid when I stop at the gas station. I get paid while I get free carwashes. I get paid until I pull into my driveway and go off duty. I’m sorry you’re a salaried employee. I can’t imagine not getting paid the moment I leave my house.
This is why WFH was a big deal to a lot of people. Those who have had 40-75 min commutes one way to afford the house and schools they wanted got so much time back. They never got paid for all that commute time.
