Ohh so much wrong here. 1) You don't work 70+ hours a week. Research has shown that people who say they work 70+ hours a week.... don't. Not even close. You're probably at around 55. https://lauravanderkam.com/2012/10/work/ 2) "At all my kids' events" means you do the fun parenting stuff, and not getting the kids ready for school every morning, taking them to every soccer practice, making all the doctor's appointments, talking to the teachers, buying the clothes, doing baths, doing bedtime, getting up with them in the night when they're sick, enforcing rules, helping with homework, etc, etc. In other words - you're not an active and involved parent, you're basically an active and involved aunt or uncle. Your spouse is picking up your slack here. 3) How much to you hire out? Do you buy convenience foods? Eat out or get takeout? Have a cleaning service? Pay for lawn care? Do you ever sew ripped clothes or figure out why the dryer isn't working? Or do does someone else fix it or you buy a new one? Do you buy things that make your life easier? Then your time constraints aren't the same as someone else's who doesn't have the resources to do things like this. 4) Does your job involve backbreaking physical work or incredibly boring repetitive tasks or constantly interacting with the public in a service job? Do you have bosses breathing down your neck? Or do you have some flexibility? The ability to make your own choices, and adjust your schedule to meet your needs and priorities, at least a good chunk of the time? Then your experience is vastly different at work than most people's, too. Lean in with some gratitude rather than "jeez, maybe everyone else is just lazy or I'm just build different."
