OP is just ignorant. The 6% unemployment is due to various reasons: 1. companies over hired during the pandemic. This is a course correction 2. too many people went into CS who aren't good at it. They can't pass a technical test. 3. AI 4. the economy has taken a hit, and companies are hesitant to hire more people because the "leader" of this country is chaotic. The market doesn't like chaos. I lived through the dotcom bomb, and it was rough. The unemployment in SV was around 7%. But things came roaring back after a year or so.
