People whose children are already in private school should be exempted from getting vouchers. You already made the choice, you can clearly avoid it, or are getting financial aid. Let other people have an opportunity, selfish OP.
You've just discovered by Republicans love vouchers. They want taxpayers to subsidize their kid's private school tuition.
Maybe so. But there's also a lot of people who want to pressure the public schools into improving by giving more people an opportunity to vote with their feet. It ought to be abundantly clear that the public school monopoly is a problem. 17% of MoCo high schoolers already attend private schools without vouchers.
Clearly public schools don't have a monopoly as private schools exist. Also, have you asked yourself why public schools aren't improving? Could it be because the same people so in love with vouchers and private schools, are also in love with putting constraints on public schools? What would happen if private schools suddenly had to take every student who applied, regardless of income, special needs, or parental support? What would happen if private schools suddenly had to test all kids every year from 1-12th?
