This is my concern and why my rising high stats senior is thinking about erring on the side of applying to more versus fewer schools. Applying to a large number of schools, however, is going to take so much more time and cost more $$. Do you mind sharing your child's stats? I have been trying to manage expectations over here! Yes if we could do it over, I would have recommended another 3-4.  1530 SAT, 11 APs (9 5s, 2 4s) mostly rigorous science/math, GPA 4.6 (FCPS)[/quote]
