I can see it for regular schools, but there’s got to be some intellectuals left.[/quote] The trust fund will not guarantee a job at Swat or Reed.[/quote] Especially when Reed or Swat can call a national search for an assistant professor in any humanities subject, get 1000+ apps, and get their picking of humanities PhDs from Princeton, Yale, and Uchicago, and also take up any strong Visiting Assistant Professors from peers like Pomona, Williams, etc.[/quote]
