A protection plan isn't for when your child is irresponsible and dumps water on it. If my child does that, he can figure out how to replace it. He wouldn't do that because he has been raised that I'm not made of money and if he screws up his laptop because he is irresponsible, he can buy another one. Heck, he has more money than I do from his summer jobs.[/quote]

No a protection plan makes sense on an item this costly .

Don’t lecture me on finances or your moral crap. I didn’t say the kid should not pay however accidents happen .

Don’t buy a Mac if you can not afford to replace it moron there are hundreds of other laptops that will just as well.

Your young adult  it isn’t fantastic because you make them work.

If my kid spilled water on their lap too they wouldn’t have called mommy to replace it like yours would have. Mine would have done that themselves without involving me. Ie solving their problem like the adult they are,
