That temporary will turn into permanent, and they'll never make any effort. And then OP will turn into all those elderly folks who can't sell their homes to go into assisted living because their adult child in their home would have nowhere to go if they did. They end up dying in squalor because their child can't help them enough, despite living in the same space. OP, your child need to stay independent as much as she possibly can.
