If “the entire world now looks at us in horror”, as you suggest, then why is anyone upset that people are being deported? Isn’t that doing them a service? Getting them safely OUT of this horrific place the rest of the world now sees? Isn’t that a good thing for them? Further, if “the rest of the world now looks at us in horror” - then why are so many people still trying to immigrate here? Why is the Mall crowded with foreign tourists today?

This is the type of deep middle school logic that got us here, and a tremendous example of how much time we have to burn to explain the simplest of concepts.  You are on your own now.

However, just because it’s the 4th and I am feeling charitable, when the deportations happen, are they being deported to “home” or to an unaccountable prison?

Is the mall filled with foreign tourists?  If so, where are they from?  Are they in danger of being abducted off the street and sent it a concentration camp?  Do you think that any of them will come back? After reading about how many of them are getting treated by the new Gestapo, I doubt it.[/quote]

You should really be more introspective instead of putting so much effort into coming up with what I’m sure you think is just a brutally crushing insult.

Because I’m on the mall right now. I’ve bumped into (not literally, just in case you want to accuse me of being clumsy) and chatted with visitors from over a dozen different countries so far today, and not a single person I encountered was worried about ICE arresting them for being a tourist and deporting them.

I wish I could help you understand that you’re on the wrong side of this. But I can’t. I don’t think anyone can help you and people like you. [/quote]
