My mom didn’t do this either, but I didn’t expect it of her? Are moms really supposed to decorate a college dorm room? Isn’t that the opportunity for kids to learn how to decorate on their own and get their own stuff? I bought my sheets/dorm stuff at a thrift store, and it’s how I learned to make my money stretch.[/quote]

The kids may pick out what they like, but parents generally buy it. You having to sleep on sheets that were used by strangers is very sad, as is you having had to pay for it. [/quote]

I bought my own. Parents were paying tuition, books, food and transportation. I worked 18 hrs a week on-campus and full-time during the summer. Many students did the same at our public university. [/quote]
