My kid bikes to and from his summer job. His 4-5pm commute always coincides with either scorching hot temps or violent thunderstorms. Ugh.
My kid works at a bike summer camp and they spend their whole days biking throughout the city. Yes, they do a weekly pool day and sometimes will do field trips to the museums, zoo, etc., but they bike everywhere and some days are just bike days, no field trips. I don't know how any of them do it. Myself, I stay inside a lot and I'm counting down the days until Fall.
When fall comes around, you will be complaining about rain and leaves, and counting the days until winter. When winter comes around you will be complaining and counting.....etc. etc. Learn to enjoy what you have now in the moment.
DP. I LOVE the leaves, and moderate rainfall (not like we've had the past 2 months). I love winter. If I can manage my allergies ok, then I love spring. You generally won't hear me complain the rest of the year. There is nothing to be enjoyed about DC weather June-mid September. Nothing. The bugs, the humidity, the blazing sun, the heat, the stinky smells everywhere. It's foul.
Ditto!! LOVE all things about fall and winter here. Tolerate spring once my allergies are dealt with. Hate all things about summer.
