[/quote] With 4 honors courses (assuming Bio, English, History and math - expected for “AAP” kids), a flat 4.0 suggests quite a few B+ grades. The honors courses already give a 0.5 bump so if the kid had gotten solid As, GPA would be closer to 4.5. Only 2-3 course can bring GPA down but not to a 4.0 of 4.5s were earned in the core classes. Logical conclusion: The AAP kid didn’t get top grades in their honors classes.[/quote] My kid with all As and four honors classes has a 4.286[/quote]
