Not sure what incident he is referring to but there have been a few horrific ones. There was one a couple of months ago where Trump sent the dad to El Salvador, them mom back to Venezuela, and kept the baby. It was shocking and an atrocity. It took the Venezuelan government to negotiate (and make themselves heroes, nice job Trump) for the mom to get her baby back weeks later. Apalling. And the poor dad is in El Salvador. [/quote]

Same things that would happen if I were to be arrested for a crime and unable to temporarily care for my child (and there is not a family member eligible to do so). First of all: No. There was nothing to figure out. The Venezuelan mother was deported, screaming and begging for her child. The Venezuelan child was kept. What is there to figure out???????????????????????????????????????????????????

Second, what do YOU know about how well the child was cared for?? How about we take your children, put them in foster care, and then tell you don't worry, the foster care system is so great, they are just fine. Seriously?!!

Third, no, it was not a short time. This family came to the US, turned themselves in seeking asylum, and the parents were immediately detained for their tattoos (STUPIDEST REASON EVER), while the baby was in foster care for about a YEAR. Unconscionable. And for what it's worth, and I have posted this many times, they were detained under Biden!

LET ME REPEAT for the people in the back: This young family, requesting asylum, who willingly turned themselves in at the border as they are supposed to do was DETAINED UNDER BIDEN FOR THEIR TATTOOS.

They were demanding, pleading, begging for deportation to be reunited with their child. Instead, the US government (not Trump's government. IE wanting to make a big show, wanting to fill a Salvadoran jail, no need to respect the Constitution or due process) sent the dad to Guantanamo and from Guantanamo to El Salvador on a totally trumped up human trafficking charge. Note: there is zero evidence presented, and there is no criminal record anywhere. This is a complete fabrication. They then sent the mom to Venezuela, even though she was also accused of the same fabricated crime. And kept the baby.

Fourth, THEY WERE NEVER ARRESTED. Stop with the bull$hit. They were detained for tattooes, deported for no reason. They act and make up the charges after. None of this would ever hold up in a court of law because it didn't happen. It is total bunk. They were not arrested or even charged. The "crimes" were invented only because they were asked to justify.
