Why would the school ask for feedback from families not at the school yet, who have no experience or interactions yet to base an opinion on? The only survey prospective parents might get would be on the application/admissions process, which is the only thing they could comment on with authority.
Because they are the future of the school, payin the fees in the future and will spend the most time with the new head. It's not to say current students don't matter, but input from new families and getting a sense of their views seems valuable as well. This is not instead of the views of the current families but in addition to those views.
You do realize that the vast bulk of "the future of the school" already is at the school? Like maybe 80-85% of it already if you are looking at the kids who will be at the school next school year who were there last school year. The only kids who could say that they might spend the most time with the new HOS compared to current students will be the 20 or so incoming pre-K students, and one would hope that their views would be adequately conveyed by the 20 or so pre-K families from last school year. If you care this much, provide input. You are free to do that. But this argument that the school isn't getting input from the "future of the school" is misplaced.
