I actually watch my speed quite carefully, I am one of thosee annoying drivers that slows down when rock creek parkway goes by the Kennedy Center and the speed limit drops to 25 mph (not sure what the safety reason is for that btw.  I generally drive around 30 on commuter roads, slower on residential streets.  My most recent "speeding" ticket was $125 for going 36 mph on Missouri, I did not realize the speed limit dropped when you cross Georgia Ave.  Oh yes, and I received a $150 ticket when making a legal right turn on red when my front bumper crossed the line (completely empty street, sidewalk and crosswalk) when I stopped before turning. If you really have close to $1k in tickets year, you are not as careful or as good of a driver as you think you are.  Seriously, that's not normal.  [/quote]
