There are datasets (Census, American Community Survey, & probably loads of privately collected ones), not difficult to link to zip code, with race or HHI (currently a proxy for race as there’s great disparity between, for example, whites & AA/black) or other demographic data that, taken together, can give someone a decent idea if someone is urm. I would be shocked if universities are not using data science in admissions [/quote]
