Why not just have a seasonal migrant visa program - but one where the visa holders do not count for purposes of electoral college votes, Congressional seats, and federal funds? Migrants who were here illegally and deported go to the back of the line for a green card. Any migrant who is convicted of a felony is barred from the US forever.
Also, migrants must buy seasonal health insurance and cannot receive any public assistance. No birthright citizenship for any kids born in the US while on a migrant visa. You come, you work, and you leave. Everyone wins.
Heaven forbid we hire American workers.
These seasonal cheap labor jobs have only ever been done by migrants, poor recent immigrants, or oppressed minorities. They are shitty jobs with low pay and bad working conditions that Americans with any other option would never do.
Then THAT is the issue we should be trying to solve. NOT making it allowable to import foreign workers to exploit. Maybe they shouldn't be shitty jobs with shitty pay that no American is willing to do. If we were truly about free markets, those jobs should go undone until the employers get their act together and start paying real wages. Allowing them to import people we all allow them to underpay is not a solution.
Dude, the president himself is importing "foreign workers to exploit." The rot starts at the top. Why don't you call the White House to register your complaint?
At the same time, the Trump Organization has consistently made use of temporary visa programs to hire foreign workers for Mar-a-Lago, four golf clubs and his Virginia winery—filing to bring in at least 1,880 seasonal workers since 2008, including 382 during Trump’s first term, according to Department of Labor data. The company’s use of short-term, temporary visas has increased steadily in recent years, from requesting 121 in 2021 to asking for a high of 178 in 2024. The jobs—primarily servers, clerks, housekeepers, kitchen staff and farm workers—pay between $14.17 and $23.01 an hour.
Trump Org Keeps Bringing In Foreign Workers To Staff Its Clubs And Winery https://www.forbes.com/sites/zacheverson/2025/06/12/trump-organization-foreign-workers-visa-hiring-mar-a-lago-golf-clubs-winery/
