CMC is really great in those majors. It's a nice mix of professionalism and academics. Those kids expect to be working after 4 years. Pomona also impressive, but a harder admit.

Amherst feels dusty right now. I think their athletic balance is off (the most athletes of any LAC) and they went all-in for diversity so it's a weird barbell of kids - not a lot of mc or umc. At the same time, they lost their way post Supreme Court decision and had the largest drop off of any college with admitting URM kids - which tells me before they were leaning heaving on race to admit. The whole area is very "white people living in white communities with Black Lives Matter bumper stickers". Its heart is in the right place, but on some basic level, I dont think they get it.

If you had asked about Williams or even Midd vs CMC, I get the question. But for me, CMC over Amherst. Plus it's an easier admit. But apply widely. [/quote]
