I feel the same.  Loved it there! But it was hard-left in the early 90s and has gotten way further left since then. Like: Lenin-worshipping, uber-radical left.[/quote]

I'm a (somewhat) more recent graduate than this, and that was not my experience. I did take a class on Marxism, but it was part of a larger package of political and historical modules on the political/ideological forces that shaped the 19th and 20th centuries. It is basically impossible to understand fin-de-siecle Europe without looking at the arc of Industrial Revolution --> Marxism/Utopianism --> Communism.
