This feels like a thread started by the Nova troll. He hasn’t done one for a couple of weeks.
I don’t know who that is, I’m just preparing to buy in 2027. And just want to make sure that it won’t be completely transformed by then so I can afford a home.
I really doubt it. Housing prices might go up a bit just because of demand, but it won't be like H Street. Hopefully they will revitalize the Glenmont Shopping Center at some point in the near future but it will not be by 2027. Here is what the Planning Department said this past March about that shopping center: "This critical area at Randolph Road and Georgia Avenue is zoned as Commercial Residential (CR-3.0, C-2.5, R-2.5, H-120) to support a dense, mixed-use neighborhood hub, offering future possibilities for retail, residential, and community-oriented spaces. However, existing challenges to redevelopment, as noted in the 2013 Sector Plan, have been the fragmented ownership of the 15 properties that make up the Center, and a lack of market demand." https://montgomeryplanningboard.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Attachment-A-GCOS-final.pdf p. 22
