For those of you who think you know what DEI is, here is a story about what it really is. If you object to supporting people with disabilities in this manner, you have no humanity. https://kfor.com/news/local/oklahoma-coffee-shop-employing-those-with-special-needs-hit-by-federal-cuts/?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR4aRoZ_O9GybY2W28uvqQbWbegOeE2AVutf1UNOlIW4OilBXNNV65GJtq8bLQ_aem_ltPfmgEalxS-5lsJX0F97A
it's a shame that the good DEI has been swept away along with all the shady stuff like BLM, etc.
What is the difference between disabilities and people of color in terms of what’s acceptable assistance? Neither group can control their disability/color. Both groups are traditionally discriminated against.
the coffee shop that employs people with disabilities seems like a noble enterprise, but BLM was exposed as a con where the founders made off with millions of dollars - that was my point.
BLM is one organization. It is not now nor has it ever been the entirety of DEI. Heck it wasn’t even the main thing.
Agree, it was never the "thing" - smearing DEI while invoking BLM is just a contorted right wing talking point from people who don't know better (but think they do). BLM was barely even an organization. It had some "founders" some of whom like Patrice Cuillors were accused of grifting, but there was never any central BLM organization "in charge" or doing much coordinating. Meanwhile on the right there has also been a ton of grifting and cons from organizations like Club for Growth, FreedomWorks, Tea Party Patriots and others who were mostly just in it for the money. Not to mention what the NRA and other right wing organizations turned into. So I don't even get what the PP's point is.
