Trump is pulling all of the levers at his disposal to get control of illegal situations (antisemitism, disguised DEI, Title IX violations) that universities refuse to control. Instead of complying with the law, Harvard and other schools have chosen to fight him in the courts (international student program). While the courts have temporarily ruled in their favor, Trump is pulling levers that no judge has any right to interfere with under the Constitution (visa reviews). Universities are making things worse for themselves, instead of negotiating appropriate solutions. Disagree with him all you like. Call him any name you like. He is the President of the United States and has the authority of that office.
Except that it is all nonsense and everyone knows it. It is nonsense that those are a problem at universities and even greater nonsense that Trump would care. These are obvious to EVERYONE. If Trump cared a whit about anti-semitism he wouldn't surround himself by the likes of Kash Patel, Ed Martin, Michael Anton, Lauren Boebert. If Trump cared about incompetence or the negative consequences of hiring less qualified people, he would not have appointed Pete Hegseth, Linda McMahon, Tulsi Gabbard, etc etc ETC. If Trump cared about Title IX violations... where to begin here? He would not be able to look in the mirror first of all. He would not constantly make everything harder for the victims of sexual violence. These are all lies beginning to end. ANd while we are at it, let's stop pretending Trump is calling the shots. Trump is brazen and shameless, but not invested enough for any of what is happening. Dementia and old age aside, he doesn't care enough nor does he have the intelligence nor the discipline for this strategy. Stephen Miller and Russ Vought are calling the shots. Again, EVERBODY knows this. Well, obviously Trump doesn't. He is going to be so embarrassed when he realizes that is being treated like a dumb puppet by those in charge.
Good. Stephen Miller is definitely on the side of US workers. Much much better to have people like this in the administration.
