I think it's all annoying and stupid. It's especially dumb for people just transiting between countries on connecting flights and I avoid those connections. [b]Also sort of ridiculous for the UK to ask Europeans to do this.[/b] It feels like a step backwards in international travel.[/quote]

You don't need it if only transiting the UK, and the EU one will be the same way, since if you are transiting the EU (say stopping in Paris on your way to the middle east), you don't enter the EU at all.

Ehe "all because of Brexit" statement was related specifically to the bolded statement, which was about EU citizens being subject to the new UK ETA.

If Brexit had not happened, it's unlikely EU citizens would have been subject to the ETA, that's all that that statement was saying. That's it was prefaced by "re: the bolded".[/quote]

UK never was in the Schengen zone, so it always made EU citizens go thru customs and immigration. So probably this would have impacted EU even if no Brexit. [/quote]
