It's more than a bit disconcerting that people here don't understand that there's a difference between local politics and presidential elections. That local politicians can win on local issues does not mean voters across multiple swing states will get behind Democrats' unpopular national agenda.
What is unpopular about their agenda? Affordable healthcare? Common sense gun laws? Addressing climate change? Protecting women’s reproductive rights?
There many excellent analyses of why Democrats lost the last election. Google them.
Oh I am aware of how they lost by a very narrow margin. Drowned out by Elon Musk and Donald Trump‘s right wing propaganda. How much did Elon spend on the 2024 election again??
Exactly. Trump was going up against the last minute replacement candidate who replaced a very unpopular incumbent who backed out of the race just 3 months ahead of Election Day and Trump still couldn't secure at least 50% of the popular vote. Oh, and that last minute replacement candidate was also the VP of the sitting POTUS with a 40% approval rating!! If the GOP had a legitimate nominee, they would have won over 500 electoral votes and 70% of the popular vote in 2024.
