Because it's where US industries outsource their manufacturing, and Europe isn't. In apparel manufacturing is usually at most 25% of the purchase price and that is largely material costs. Companies that do finish in the US often still import materials. Many US jobs are contingent on oversees manufacturing.[/quote]
