Don't sleep on Blair CAP for an artsy kid, particularly one who is also into drama and would appreciate a smaller cohort. CAP has between 100 and 125 kids per grade, depending on the year, and while a lot of the kids gravitate toward theater and film-making due to the emphasis of the program, many of the projects can be completed as pieces of visual art instead, if you do an artist's statement in line with the assignment. The arts department is not as specialized as VAC, but nothing else is like VAC in the district. Still, the size of the school means they can offer a lot of different visual arts classes, and the teachers are very strong.
Since when? CAP was about 75 students.
Even 100 students means a lot don’t get in. Mine was waitlisted but the commute was a problem and the curriculum as it’s very ridged and not the focus mine wanted. So, that’s not really relevant too. All the speciality programs only accept a small number of kids.
