Prestige was one of those things. I gave her a list of private schools that I would pay for (based on a judgment that the brand was worth the cost: ivies, etc). I told her she could apply to other privates too but I wouldn’t pay much more than in state cost so she’d need merit. Easy. She got it. She applied to all kinds of schools.
