Pfft, this is tame compared to some of the other national databases he wants created. The US is about to be an absolute sh*tshow because he wants everyone on a SSRI put on a list and taken off their meds. He wants insurance companies to stop covering these meds. They also want a database created of all confirmed pregnancies. They are trying to bypass working with physicians at all and only get this data from insurance companies. Insurances will be required to report a positive pregnancy test result and then later report a live birth or still birth based on what the insurance covers after the birth. And you know exactly why they want this kind of database. RFK Jr. wants mandatory vaccinations for schooling to be completely eliminated through federal mandate. He also floated an idea of giving BONSUES to physicians who urge their patients not to vaccinate. These are direct ideas that are seriously being floated at HHS that I've now heard from 2 different people who still work at HHS.
I don’t work in the medical field, but this has to violate some kind of privacy law right????
Ummm. HIPPA to start. But this administration doesn’t actually care about following laws. I’ve come off of SSRIs. And had a close friend who did. Both for postpartum issues. I was able to come off. It took 6 months of very gradual tapering (to get off a low dose) but was fine. My friend did a similar gradual tapering and crashed and burned. You do not just stop these meds cold turkey. It’s really dangerous. And BTW, I’m a Fed. If you ever applied for SSI/SSDI, Medicare or Medicaid, Elon already has your medical records. Let that sink in.
I mean yeah, if you are going to claim you are medically unable to work, you are going to need to provide records.
And normally, anyone claiming that they’re medically unable to work voluntarily submits their medical records. See how this is different? There’s no special database of people with a specific diagnosis. This means that they’re open about combing SSI records, Medicaid records, Medicare records, plus records from private insurance companies, pharmacies, smart watches and fitness devices. They’re not even trying to pretend that they’re only looking for what they say they are.
And they voluntarily submit them for a specific reason, not for any future use.
+1. This is really bad. I work with people medical records for a federal agency. You want to know who has an unplanned pregnancy, asks about abortion and subsequently has a pregnancy loss in Texas? It’s there. Now, I would never highlight, bookmark or point this out in a write up because it has nothing to do with my reason for reviewing the medical records. I also know who is on ED meds, who is in rehab and whose urine tests positive for what. Again, not something I would ever mark or write up (unless substance abuse was legally an issue). But, I’m a professional civil servant who has had training in appropriate handling of PII and PHI (and has ethics and morals and takes the whole nonpartisan administration of government functions things seriously). Can you say the same for Elon Musk? Because DOGE is in my agency and has accessed these records. Which means Elon has a personal copy. And way more than half the country has given him access to their medical records through the VA, SSA, Medicaid or Medicare (or Department of Education for autism). An Autism registry is bad. And Musk has access to what he needs to make a good start of a registry. But there are actually even worse places to go, like mining records for women suspected of taking medication to have abortions in red states and pursuing criminal cases. Which should only happen after the men’s ED registry is made public, IMO. (And no, neither should EVER happen).
