CS is and has been way over subscribed anyways. It started to get that way around 2010. So yes, if you are not capable of actual engineering and you managed to 💩 out a CS degree from an easy school to get into and an easy school to graduate from you are in trouble. Or if you generally have massive personality defects - which is also a major problem for CS related professionals. LLMs have significant limitations. They also have significant advantages given the right prompting. An LLM absolutely is not general intelligenc. If you are being replaced entirely by large language model, the problem is you
Obama '08 coincidence? I don't think so. https://revealnews.org/article-legacy/how-obamas-immigration-plan-will-help-skilled-workers-who-hold-visas/ " They increase the number of available visas of various types, allow some spouses of H-1B workers to find jobs in the U.S. and expand a program in which foreign graduates of U.S. universities gain work experience here."
Remember, the H-1B lottery was going to be changed to allocate visas based on salary. But Biden/Democrats stopped this common sense change. If the H1B is supposed to address skill shortages, then allocating based on market price makes a lot of sense. But not to Democrats. https://www.shrm.org/topics-tools/news/talent-acquisition/uscis-replaces-h-1b-lottery-salary-based-selection
