I totally disagree.  Selective tariffs/subsidies are totally the problem.  They warp the markets.  Just like allowing immigration in specific economic sectors.  You end up with all the capitalists investing in those few areas, rather than more broadly and you get financial bubbles, when the "artificial" productivity is removed.

Across the board tariffs are the right thing to do, here because we want broader economic change in manufacturing.  Not just EVs or Chips.[/quote]
