OP Here: Thank you everyone for your responses! I have learned a lot from this experience & will behave better in public from now on! I wish I could apologize to this poor woman for what I said. :(
[twitter] Good for you, OP. Not too many DCUM posters will admit they were wrong! I'll bet you're a nice person and you were just having a bit of a moment yourself. As for those of you criticizing the mom for shopping with her kiddo, you realize not everyone can just hire help, right? Also, how do your children learn to behave in a store if you never take them?
I rarely if ever see an op (original poster) come back and eat crow. And all parents at one time or another have had moments where they themselves wished that they did not have children. Especially during stressful periods. Any parent who denies this fact would be a complete liar. This mother in the store was venting what she was feeling inside. If her child were younger than two, I would be sympathetic. However to voice that people should rethink having kids in front of a child who is old enough to store that info in their head is just wrong. Later on in life this same child may use this incident in her childhood as a catalyst for how she never felt loved by her own mom. Or perhaps she will remember being humiliated in front of strangers and how negatively it affected how she views herself.
