I think it’s probably histamines from improperly stored fish.
I have never heard of this. Can you okease elaborate?
What is scombroid fish poisoning? Scombroid fish poisoning, or histamine fish poisoning, is a syndrome resembling an allergic reaction that occurs after eating fish contaminated with high levels of histamine. What are the symptoms? Symptoms begin within 2 minutes to several hours after eating the fish. The most common symptoms are tingling and burning sensations around the mouth, facial flushing, sweating, nausea, vomiting, headache, palpitations, dizziness, and rash. Sometimes people report that the fish has a peppery or metallic taste. How long does it last? Most people have mild symptoms that resolve within a few hours. In some cases, symptoms may last for several days. Treatment is generally not needed; however, for severe cases, or in people with underlying medical conditions, antihistamines may be beneficial. https://www.health.state.mn.us/diseases/scombroid/index.html
