A childrens hospital today diagnosed AML leukemia.  I'm not sure if they could test bone marrow or tissue same day, so I'm not sure if this is a preliminary diagnosis or for certain.  Parents are devastated but hopeful.

Children's Fairfax for a second opinion if there is time. A good friend's son was treated there and considering the circumstances had a good  experience. He is ok now.[/quote]

I'm glad to hear he's ok now.  They just took the biopsy today, will take 2 weeks for pathology or genetics, but they want to start chemo immediately on Monday. Port was surgically inserted today.  Crazy how fast this is happening.  They may get 2nd opinion when test results come back. [/quote]
