People who think there are facts and honest news on X are why our country is in swift decline. Please, do better. Read more than a handful of words on any topic. Don’t depend on something run by Elon Musk for truth.
X has news and opinions from all sides. You listen to them then you get to think and form your own opinion. I know that’s hard for you but maybe give it a try. You might like it!
X USED TO have opinions from all sides. Not since Musk took over. It has some diversity of viewpoints but mostly rwnj posters, like musk himself. And he makes all users see his nonsense. I learn things from many sources - traditional newspapers, online news sites, podcasts and substacks. I don’t need tweet length social media posts to know the news, think or form my own opinion. People who read tweets and declare themselves well informed are truly sad. And responsible for the decline in criticism thought, awareness f news and facts and susceptibility to conspiracy theories. Social media is not news.
I understand the idea of not wanting to financially benefit Musk but I'm not sure how you are using Twitter if you are seeing things you don't want to see. I use the lists feature for local weather, sports, and news. The politics aren't any different before or after Musk bought it, I follow the accounts that interest me and that is mostly all that appears in my feed. Sometimes someone in my sports feed will start commenting about politics but that's an easy unfollow and they are gone.
Many centrist and left leaning people have left X since he bought it and changed the culture. I use the feeds and see tons of posts by people I don’t follow, including Musk. I never used it much so didn’t create lists, so thanks for the tip. But given the corrupt owner and the many users who have fled, I’m not interested in continuing to use it.
