Actually I think he said we should hire the best and the brightest air traffic controllers and not base hiring on race, sex, orientation,  etc. It’s called a meritocracy. [/quote]

We don’t live in a meritocracy. Never have, probably never will. That would mean solely hiring on metrics and evidence and we don’t do that. That would mean no more “personality hires” or getting jobs for friends and family. That isn’t merit.  [/quote]
