At least 4 to get to the Democrat Party goal of, minimum, 13. If he can get rid of Roberts and Sotomayor along with the retirements of Thomas and Alito which are coming? 8 seems like a good number to start.
The Democrats no longer believe this is in the best interests of the country. They thought it was very important in 2022 and 2023. I'm not sure what happened but they stopped believing this recently.
Biden killed that as soon as he came in to office. Biden was only concerned about not upsetting the Republicans and keeping the status quo. The court needs reform and needs to be expanded to handle the increase workload. Every time they take some trans athlete case there are 100’s of businesses case that are not addressed. If a case is appealed to SCOTUS it should be heard in a reasonable time frame. The Republicans have thoroughly corrupted the current court and selected only RWNJs a justices. So it is time to time limit appointments, force a strict code of conduct/ethics, enforce conflict of interests, increase the pool of judges to eliminate the gaming of the court and allow the incoming President to appoint a new majority(done within the time limits). Also the House of Representatives needs to be increase by 100-120 representatives. Has not been increase in over a 100 years. The house was meant to be more representative vs what it is now.
Trumps nominees are generally pretty good. He just nominates whoever the heritage foundation tells him to nominate. Theya re definitely conservative but theya re well qualified and they are generally not nutjobs. Biden's nominees have been pretty bad by comparison. How would MORE SCOTUS justices allow the supreme court to hear more cases? But If you really think we need more justices, I bet trump would agree. But if you think we need more SCOTUS justices,
