TBF, a lot of the EE who come here kicka$$ in academics, as so do many Asian immigrants.  The academic bar in the US is set pretty low.

The only reason people come here is because the US is a wealthy country; lots of money to be made.   There are several reasons why this is the case, but it's not because the US K-12 education system is the best. Far from it.  I would even say that most colleges here aren't that great, but again, the money and opportunities are here, so people want to come here.[/quote]

TBF most Americans are upset about the low bar too. But instead we're focusing on teaching kids how to use rulers because ONE kid in the entire class can't figure it out. We will halt the learning of 24 other kids just so one kid doesn't fall behind. Equity. I think this is the legacy of No Child Left Behind. [/quote]

Moving ahead with instruction when MANY KIDS don't know something is poor practice. It's not like it takes students hours to learn/refresh this skill.[/quote]
