HS Teacher here: 29/30 present 1st Period (although quite a few late) 28/30 present 3rd Period 24/27 present 5th Period Off 7th Period We were able to move on and start new content today.
Thank you! Glad teachers are moving ahead.
Glad your streets were plowed and you have flexibility at work or SAH to be able to take your kids to school on a weird last minute schedule. Ours are icy hills with piles of snow/ice and not passable by school buses. And I don't get paid time off or able to reschedule work meetings based on a last minute whim to reopen the schools on a Friday for a short day.
You have to make the decisions best for your family, but that doesn't mean the rest of the world stops until you're ready. The beat goes on.
Funny because you like to act like everyone needs to go with the flow but you and those liked you seemed to tantrum over the calls all week. Sounds like you couldn't deal with that beat.
I am the poster who wrote the "beat goes on" message. You must be confused because I haven't had a single tantrum this week about anything. Juggling show, work, kids at home or not, etc. - it's all part of life and not worth the stress you seem to embody. The flow, as you called it, during the week is that schools are open unless there is a critical need to close them. Your inability to handle getting out of your neighborhood seems like a personal problem and not an issue for the rest of us.
There would not be a 200+ page locked post had this not been an issue to "the rest of us" It got nasty precisely because it was an issue for enough people.
