Never have a party on a Monday, no matter what day it is or what other events are happening that day. Even if we could technically make it, just no.
Why? If it's a holiday, why is it worse than a Sunday?
Not all employers let their employees off that day. And for those that do, the point of the day is to celebrate and reflect on MLK’s legacy. It just smacks of disrespect.
No it doesn't. And I don't know any employers that dont give off mlk.
NP - DH doesn't get MLK off, he works for a defense contractor, not in DC, and they have never done it for some reason.
NP. I'm employed by a defense contractor in NoVa. We've never been given MLK as a day off. I typically end up having to take PTO because our daycare and elementary school both close. I've worked for 3 different defense contractors over the past 22 years, and none of them have ever observed most federal holidays, including MLK.
