If she is getting interviews, that is a good sign. I have an open position (not for an engineer) and I want to hire someone right away. I scheduled all of the first interviews and I am trying to get second interviews through. The problem is that the second and final interviews are with my leadership, and their calendars are harder to get time. And they are not going to budge on vacation time. So I have three finalists and I would love to make an offer to one, but I can’t. I have to wait for my leadership which means waiting for them to return after the new year. One of the PPs advised treating the search like a job where it will take 3-6 months. I agree and she should just keep at it - something will come through. but not in the next two weeks.
Oh, and BTW - it took more than a month to get the first round of interviews. We had interviews from November through December 20, but because I had a 1st interview on the 20th, my leadership did not want to see anyone until I narrowed it down to the top three, which meant I had to wait until this past Friday to request scheduling of second/final interviews. So for the November folks, it felt like eons. But one of my finalists is from that group. Internal processes can really make it slow.
