So it makes sense that most kids who are tested do have a diagnosis.[/quote] +1 We would never have sought an eval if two different therapists hadn't strongly recommended it. It's bizarre to me when people suggest these diagnoses are fake. If a parent is seeking an eval it's because something is going on. The evaluator isn't just going to diagnose ADHD or ASD though. Many on these boards and friends IRL have gotten anxiety diagnoses but no ADHD or ASD. Studies show about 1 in 5 kids meet the criteria for an anxiety disorder so it shouldn't be surprising if an evaluator finds that. It doesn't necessarily mean the kid will get put on meds.[/quote]
