There are at older age groups. But if the league has enough teams at younger year, they will play other teams in the same league. Many rec teams participate in an all star tournament once a season.[/quote]

Yes, in the younger years CYA teams will only play other CYA teams in their same age group. As kids get older there aren’t enough teams to do that due to more players being needed for each team plus fewer kids still playing rec soccer. So then they start playing other rec organizations’ teams in an organized league. So CYA U14 girls will play U14 girls from VYS, SYA, GFR, etc. The rec league is separate from the leagues that travel teams play in. Rec will still be parent volunteer coaches and no tryouts.[/quote]
