Dh comes from a rural town that had a big manufacturing plant that was shipped to Mexico. They were good jobs and most people working there liked it. I think unions were a bit crazy and drove the plant out of town, not just the wage difference between Mexicans and Americans. In his town bachelors degrees aren’t common. Those who have them are nurses, teachers or accountants. So there aren’t too many jobs open to people without degrees, but are still willing to be trained.
