It’s overrated to play in the postseason at U19. Most of the team is about to report or has already reported to college and it’s an injury risk as well, right before you start preseason. Most of the club team is usually recruited too by then (minus maybe a trapped player or two) so the showcase aspect is not as critical. It’s also expensive and most of the other teams are missing players too so it’s not even a true representation of what the competition would be at younger ages. My older daughter went and it was a waste. We were playing with half a team, and a B team goalie who was pulled up because ours had already gone to college for summer classes.[/quote]

Almost no one wants to go to playoffs at that age group.  Indeed in the past teams that have qualified have declined to go so lower ranked teams are given the slot.  D1 reporting is close after so there is no interest in an injury or the expense of travel.  [/quote]
