If punishment becomes certain (as it probably would under Trump’s new U.S. Attorney), these psychopaths will probably hesitate before sticking a gun in someone’s face.

The juvenile crime issue would probably require a partial repeal of home rule. I doubt Trump’s trifecta would entirely do away with home rule, but I could see them either directly wresting juvenile crime away from the city council, or otherwise exerting pressure on the council to do something.

I'm not sure he needs to touch MPD. The USPP and various other police agencies in DC are under federal control. All that he probably has to do is direct his Interior Secretary to direct USPP to start running stops on every vehicle that runs a stop sign or commits a minor infraction and, with by running licenses and searching the vehicles, you'll be putting away dozens and potentially hundreds of people every day.[/quote]
