My name and my reputation have value to me. I will not recommend students who routinely display rude behavior. I won’t recommend students who cheat and don’t grow or learn from it. I don’t recommend students who routinely fail to meet class expectations (and yes, attendance is one of them). And since I write dozens a year, which takes me almost a full week of —unpaid— labor, I do feel I have the right to be a bit selective. [/quote]
