I understand people like dogs but I don’t understand why the dogs are everywhere now. I can’t walk down the sidewalk without having to veer off multiple times to let dogs go by. They pee in our yard and make the grass die. The grocery store. When I pick up lunch, dogs paw at my pants in the line. Can’t sit outside anymore because giant dog tails smack your legs or the dogs want to make friends. They’re walking around in the airport and at every kid sports game. It’s just so weird that they’re everywhere now. People used to leave dogs at home.
This. Too many people have dogs and many of the people who have them are bad dog owners. I actually used to be fine with dogs a lot of places that it now bothers me because when fewer people had dogs it wouldn't be that big of a deal. Like I used to like the idea of working in an office where people could bring their dogs because it would just be a few dogs and I like dogs so it would be fun to see the 2-3 pups at work sometimes. Now I would lobby so hard against allowing dogs at work because it would be like 12 dogs and half of them would be awful and it would be a [literal] mess. There used to be two dogs in my condo building -- small dogs that were very suitable for apartments and city life. Now there are like 14 dogs and a lot of them are large and energetic and loud. You hear them all the time in the hallways and stairwells or barking in apartments. They are the kinds of dogs that run and jump and are probably not getting enough exercise because their owners work full time and many are back in the office a few days a week. There is dog hair everywhere. You can't enter or exit the building without encountering dogs pretty much ever. It's too many dogs.
